With the recent changes in the way that Vietnam censors sites, Internet users in Vietnam have been searching frantically for proxies to unblock sites. While in the past it was possible for users who wanted to surf Facebook, Youtube, and other blocked sites to change certain DNS setting on their computer for a "quick fix", this loop hole is now closed. So anyone in Vietnam looking to unblock blocked sites now has to choose between one of two IP changing tools: web based proxies and VPNs.
The site here has a lot about VPNs because that's what I use to surf anonymously while I travel. However, many people prefer web based proxies. It is true that a proxy in Vietnam offers a number of advantages when compared for VPNs.
1. A proxy in Vietnam is going to require no installation, which makes it easy to sign up for, set up, and get started. While many VPN services offer easy installation and most will provide a PDF with setup instructions, no installation is always easier! After you sign up, and email is immediately sent to you with a secure link. From that link, you can access the secure browser that allows you to unblock sites. For a web based proxy in Vietnam to work, all you have to do is type the URL of the banned site into the browser!
2. One license can be used on multiple devices. Because VPNs require installation, VPN services are able to see and control how many devices you use it on. Also, certain VPN protocols only work on mobile devices, which means you've got to buy extra licenses if you want to unblock sites on your iPhone/Android Phone and your PC/Mac. The same is not true of a web based proxy in Vietnam. With one of these guys, you can access the secure link from anywhere – work, school, your phone, your home computer, or even computers at Internet cafes and other public areas. Its very versatile!
3. They're generally cheaper. Proxies aren't as secure as VPNs, and take a lot less maintenance, so in general you can expect that a proxy in Vietnam is going to cost you less than a VPN. For example, some of the cheapest (quality) VPN services I have featured on the site are about 6-10 USD a month. The web based proxy service I'm about to introduce to you is less that 5 USD per month.
4. A proxy in Vietnam is just as good as a VPN! VPNs are more secure sure, with their fancy layers of encryption and tunneling, but hey, we're not trying to take down governments or organize terrorist groups. We just want to send email without worrying about the government checking up on us, surf Facebook in our free time, and keep in touch with what's happening with friends and family outside of Vietnam. Proxies are good enough.
So the service I promised to tell you about. It's called Dynamic Proxy. I prefer to use Dynamic Proxy in Vietnam for a couple reasons.
There's a FREE TRIAL
- It's cheap ($4.5 USD a month) ***** To get it for this price, you have to sign up immediately sign up for a 1 year subscription after the free trial. The advertised price is $6 USD for one year. Shorter contracts will have different prices, but a 25% discount is available for all contract lengths if you sign up immediately after the trial.
- It's fast (can stream YouTube videos)
- It's reliable (has been working in Vietnam for many years now)
- It's NOT BLOCKED (these days, many proxies are blocked in Vietnam)
Before you go check out other proxies, just remember this. When you give your IP information to a proxy server, it's possible for them to track you, spam you, and use your IP for their own purposes. Do you know who's behind your proxy? Dynamic Proxy is a well established, trusted service that means you can unblock sites in Vietnam without worrying about what's going to happen to your private data.
